Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a session and how often will I see you?
Therapy sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long and are often scheduled weekly, especially at the beginning of treatment. Many individuals come to therapy after struggling with challenging situations, and weekly sessions help maintain accountability and motivation as you work toward your goals. As therapy progresses and you begin to heal and grow, we can discuss whether fewer sessions might better suit your needs. The frequency of sessions is always tailored to ensure that you achieve and maintain positive change.
How long will therapy last?
The duration of therapy varies depending on your unique circumstances and goals. Most clients attend therapy for an average of 10-20 sessions, but some may benefit from fewer sessions, while others prefer to engage in therapy for 6-12 months or longer. Factors influencing the length of therapy include:
-
The complexity of the issue
-
The depth of exploration you’d like to achieve
-
Your commitment to implementing and sustaining positive changes
-
The therapeutic approach that best suits your needs
During the intake assessment, we will determine the most appropriate schedule and approach to support your goals.
How much does therapy cost?
The rate for a 45-minute individual session is $275, with prorated costs for appointments of different durations. I understand that therapy is a meaningful investment in your well-being. To help you feel confident in your decision, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This allows us to connect, discuss your goals, and determine whether we’re a good fit before scheduling your initial appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
Coast to Coast CBT is not in network with insurance companies and only accepts private pay. However, many insurance plans allow for out-of-network provider reimbursement. If you’d like to explore this option, I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to understand your benefits. Upon request, I can provide you with a superbill (invoice) to submit for potential reimbursement.

For established clients, I am available for in-person sessions in Texas and California on a periodic basis. If you’re interested in adding in-person appointments to your treatment plan, let me know so we can explore this option.
Where are you licensed to practice?
I serve residents of California, Texas, and 40+ PSYPACT participating states. Click here to see if you reside in a PSYPACT state.
Can you share more about PSYPACT?
PSYPACT is an interstate compact which offers a voluntary expedited pathway for practice to qualified psychologists who wish to practice in multiple states. PSYPACT is designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology. In order to practice telepsychology in PSYPACT states, psychologists licensed in PSYPACT states only, can apply to the PSYPACT Commission for an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT). A licensed psychologist holding an APIT is authorized to provide telepsychology to clients in other eligible states only if the practitioner is physically located in their declared “home state.” This Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology is deemed valid until the psychologist is no longer eligible under the Compact Statute and/or the Rules and/or Policies established by the Commission. The PSYPACT Commission is the governing body of PSYPACT and is comprised of one representative from each PSYPACT state. More information regarding PSYPACT and its requirements can be found at www.psypact.gov.
What online resources do you recommend for mental health support?
While therapy provides invaluable support, there are also many trusted online resources that can complement your mental health journey. Here are a few that I often recommend to clients to help them build skills, find support, and deepen their understanding of emotional well-being.

-
Call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org if you or a loved one is in need of crisis support.
-
**988 has replaced 1-800-273-TALK (8255). On July 16, 2022 the ten-digit National Suicide Prevention Lifeline number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), was converted to an easy to remember three-digit number, 988.
-
Even though this change happened to expand service and strengthen access to mental health care to those in need, the original number will remain in service.
