Meet Dr. Christine Warren

Dr. Christine Warren

Welcome! I’m Dr. Christine Warren, founder of Coast to Coast CBT. With a PsyD in clinical psychology and an emphasis in family systems from Azusa Pacific University, I am deeply committed to helping individuals and families overcome challenges and live value-driven lives.

My journey into psychology began with a research project in Nairobi, Kenya, exploring the short- and long-term effects of physical punishment as a disciplinary method. This work inspired the creation of training programs for parents and teachers focused on developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive strategies for shaping behaviors, which is a mission that continues to inform my approach today.

Aside from my psychology practice, you can find me practicing yoga, hosting game night, or enjoying one of the many walking trails in Dallas with my partner. As a Los Angeles native, I'm often flying back-and-forth to visit loved ones in California.

Extensive Clinical Training and Expertise

I completed my APA-accredited internship at the Dallas VA Medical Center, where I gained invaluable experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups. During this time, I developed a passion for helping older adults and those navigating life transitions, including concerns related to death and dying. My postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Long Beach Health Care System further honed my skills, providing specialized training in gender-specific needs and trauma-focused treatments within the Women’s Mental Health Center.

Prior to founding Coast to Coast CBT, I served as the Director of Operations at CBT California, a leading group practice specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In this role, I trained and supervised clinical psychology graduate students, furthering the dissemination of evidence-based practices. My experience also includes having taught cognitive and behavioral interventions as an adjunct professor at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in Los Angeles. I am currently affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center and acting as a clinical supervisor to graduate students as they lead DBT Skills Training groups.
